Job summary

Cornerstone Government Affairs is seeking Legislative Interns to support the Louisiana State Government Affairs team at the Louisiana Capitol during the 2027 Session. This paid, in-person internship offers hands-on exposure to state lobbying, stakeholder engagement, and policy issues in Louisiana.

Dates: March 15, 2027 through June 11, 2027 (flexible on actual start and end dates). Hours: 20–25 hours per week (part-time). Location: Louisiana office, Baton Rouge. Pay: $18.40 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Third-year level student or higher in a bachelor's degree program; or graduate studies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Attend hearings or study committees and take detailed notes on legislation relevant to the team.
  • Assist with creation and distribution of electronic and print information.
  • Prepare state and local election lists of officials and candidates.
  • Track and prepare general election reports for distribution.
  • Assist with organizational needs such as delegation lists.
