Job summary

Cornerstone Government Affairs, Inc. is seeking interns to support the Mississippi State Government Affairs team at the Mississippi Capitol during the 2027 Legislative Session.

The internship is in-person, January 5, 2027 through April 2, 2027 (flexible start/end), 20–25 hours per week, part-time, located in the Mississippi office. Successful candidates are third-year undergraduates or graduate students with excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and a deep

Qualifications

  • Third-year level student or higher in a bachelor's program; or graduate studies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Attend committee hearings and take detailed notes on legislation that are relevant to the team.
  • Assist with creation and distribution of electronic and print information.
  • Prepare state and local election lists of elected officials and candidates.
  • Track and prepare general election report for distribution.
  • Assist with organizational needs such as delegation lists, etc.
