Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Supervisor of the Main Operating Room at Freeman West Campus in Joplin, MO. The role reports to the Director of Perioperative Services and leads clinical staff, ensuring effective patient flow and adherence to departmental policies.

You will collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize resources, coordinate training, and advance quality metrics while maintaining optimal staffing and operational safety daily.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current RN license from a compact state; if compact, license must be in residence state.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates departmental orientation, training, and competency for all staff.
• Maintains clinical competency of surgeries performed within the MOR.
• Collaborates with the Director to develop Main OR policies and procedures.
• Oversees the Main OR schedule and daily operations with the Charge RN to optimize patient flow and resource use.
• Develops, implements, and reports quality monitors tied to KPI trends.
• Maintains staffing at optimum levels; oversees staff scheduling and recruitment.
• Assists with new product evaluations and implementation.
• Communicates effectively with staff and physicians; resolves issues.
• Identifies equipment and supply needs; participates in evaluations.
• Conducts interviews with the Director of Perioperative Services.
