Job summary

Mittera is seeking a Mailing Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end production, sorting, and fulfillment of high-volume client mailings at our Urbandale facility.

The role blends hands-on leadership of production workflows with strategic oversight of postage estimation, USPS compliance, and cost optimization, while partnering with sales, engineering, and logistics to meet client expectations and operational goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mailing operations, logistics, or production management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
• Strong understanding of USPS regulations, mailing standards, and postage optimization strategies.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Technical proficiency with mailing equipment and software systems.

Responsibilities

• Production Workflow Management: Direct daily mail production schedules, monitor project statuses, and coordinate with Data Processing, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Equipment Maintenance and Supervision: Oversee the maintenance and operation of mailing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Sorting and Fulfillment Oversight: Manage the sorting process to ensure accuracy and compliance with USPS standards, and oversee the fulfillment of mailings to meet client specifications.
• Postage Estimation and Cost Optimization: Calculate postage requirements accurately, identify opportunities for postal discounts, and implement strategies to maximize cost savings.
• USPS Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all mailing activities adhere to USPS regulations and industry best practices, maintaining compliance and avoiding penalties.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with sales, production, and logistics teams to coordinate mailing projects, address client needs, and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Quality Control: Implement quality assurance procedures to verify the accuracy and integrity of mailings before dispatch.
