Assists in the communication and dispensing of medications via mail. Maintains records and reports, and ensures sufficient inventories at workstations.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist Pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medication, including filling, packaging, labeling, and stocking medications, manually or mechanically.
2. Label drug containers according to department specifications; fill medication orders in outpatient areas; handle extemporaneous medication packaging as required.
3. Calculate required dosing and supply for orders; maintain records and reports; resolve third-party rejects and respond to customer inquiries.
4. Document customer inquiries, issues, and transactions; maintain outpatient medication records; assist in maintaining statistics and records for medication orders.
5. Enter and process orders into the computer system; keep the work environment clean; maintain inventory at workstations.
6. Transport pharmacy materials as needed; manage stock and inventory records.
7. Support material control by maintaining records and daily supplies inventory.
8. Operate point-of-sale systems; ensure positive customer experience; handle correspondence with patients and prescribers.
9. Follow policies and procedures to address inquiries and issues; comply with FDA mandates and manufacturer restrictions, including REMS programs and limited distribution drugs.
10. Maintain daily inventory of supplies.
11. Perform related duties as required, considering all responsibilities as essential functions under the ADA.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in same-day pharmacy services is a plus.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification and NYS registration as a pharmacy technician.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.

The position offers flexible 8-hour shifts between 7 AM and 7 PM, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
