Job summary

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of manual machines including saw, lathe, or mill.
• Proficient in shop math.
• Ability to effectively read and interpret blueprints.
• Solid communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work overtime, as needed.
• Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts according to established processes, blueprints, sketches, and/or verbal instructions.
• Perform machine set-ups and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
• Follow detailed work instructions and related documentation to meet high-quality standards, daily production goals and operational metrics
• Conduct inspections of machined parts using various precision tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, CMM) to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Safely operate various machine tools, perform hand operations.
• Conduct routine maintenance on machines, including managing coolant and controlling chip removal.
• Provide instruction and guidance to other Machinists regarding machine set-ups and fixture use.
• Ensure proper handling, use, and disposal of chemical, substances and materials as applicable
• Promote a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in areas of quality, safety, cost and on-time delivery through High Performance Teams.
• Follow standard work, Day by Hour, Team Improvement Board and other operational metrics.
• Ability to flex to other machine centers when needed.
• Standard work and ad hoc responsibilities as defined by organizational priorities and standards.
• Workflow determined by internal and external customer requirements.
