Job summary

Woodward MPC, Inc. is seeking a Machinist I for our Niles, IL facility. The role involves setting up and operating Lathe Machines and OD/ID grinders, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring parts meet quality specs.

Training will begin with day hours before transitioning to the 2nd shift, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, up to 2 years of related experience, and the ability to learn CNC processes, gauge work, and document procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years’ experience in related work or applicable degree.
• General knowledge of machines and equipment functionality, and how tools could be used on such equipment/machines.
• Ability to operate and set up CNC equipment.
• Knowledge of CNC programming/machining including basic reading/editing of programs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Lathe Machines and OD/ID grinders.
• Document paperwork and maintain records.
• Use gauging equipment to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Follow work instructions and setup sheets for machine operation.
• Obtain certifications as necessary for required processes.
