Job summary

Woodward is seeking a Machinist I to join our manufacturing team in Illinois. The role involves setting up and operating Lathe and OD/ID grinding machines, following work instructions, and ensuring parts meet engineering specifications.

The position includes a 2nd shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm, with paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) match, stock contributions, and a robust benefits package. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and 0–2 years of related experience, plus

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
0-2 years' experience in related work or applicable degree.
General knowledge of machines and equipment functionality and how tools could be used on such equipment.
Ability to operate and set up CNC equipment.
Knowledge of CNC programming/machining, including reading, understanding, and editing basic programs; basic knowledge of grinding, turning, milling, drilling.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate Lathe, Manual Machines, and OD/ID Grinders.
Complete paperwork while adhering to record retention requirements.
Document nonconforming material and participate in root cause and corrective actions.
Use work instructions and gauing equipment to ensure conformance to specs.
Obtain necessary certifications for required processes.
