Job summary

Lantech is seeking a Machinist for 2nd shift to produce high-precision components for our stretch-wrapping technology leadership. This role requires strong CNC and manual machining skills, precision measurement, and adherence to tight tolerances, with a focus on quality and safety within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the machining trade.
• Able to set up and operate CNC and manual machines.
• Produce parts to print with tight tolerances.
• Familiar with GD&T and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, CNC mills, manual lathes, and manual mills
• Machine parts to print using metric and inch drawings
• Hold and inspect tight tolerances - sometimes less than 0.001 inch
• Produce simple to complex components using various machining equipment
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and optical comparators
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints, including GD&T
• Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Do

As a Machinist, you’ll apply your technical expertise to machine complex parts while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

Set up and operate CNC lathes, CNC mills, manual lathes, and manual mills

Machine parts to print using both metric and inch drawings

Hold and inspect tight tolerances - sometimes less than 0.001 inch

Produce simple to complex components using a variety of machining equipment

Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and optical comparators

Read and interpret detailed blueprints, including GD&T

Devise creative and unconventional part-holding methods when needed

Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity

Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced, dependable machinist who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Have 5+ years of experience in the machining trade

Can independently set up and operate CNC and manual machines

Are skilled in producing both simple and complex parts to print

Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and strong work ethic

Are comfortable working with tight tolerances and high-quality standards

Work effectively within a team environment

Are dependable and maintain an excellent attendance record

Desired Skills & Experience

CNC programming experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Vocational or trade school training is a plus
