Job summary

Lantech, a leading manufacturer of packaging equipment, is seeking a Machine Operator – Saw to join our Louisville team on 1st shift. You will operate a horizontal band saw and drill press, read basic blueprints, measure to 1/32 inch, and support production with a safety-first mindset.

You should have a High school diploma or equivalent, be able to stand 9–10 hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and be willing to overtime as needed. Training provided and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical blueprints.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32 inch.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Commitment to safety and following standardized work.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
• Ability to stand for 9–10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift loads up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience with band saw or drill press is a plus.

Responsibilities

Why You Matter

As a Machine Operator – Saw, you will operate a horizontal band saw and drill press to prepare materials for production. Your attention to detail and ability to follow standardized work will be essential to maintaining safety, quality, and productivity throughout the manufacturing process.

1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

What You’ll Do

• Operate a horizontal band saw to cut material to specified lengths.
• Operate a drill press to drill and tap holes to designated sizes.
• Read and interpret basic mechanical blueprints and production specifications.
• Use a tape measure to accurately measure material to 1/32 inch.
• Follow standardized work instructions to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are met.
• Inspect materials and completed work to ensure they meet required specifications.
• Safely handle and maneuver materials and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Support production schedules and work overtime as needed to complete projects and meet deadlines.

Desired Experience

• Prior experience operating a horizontal band saw preferred.
• Prior experience operating a drill press preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is a plus.

Education

• Vocational or trade school training preferred.
