The position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork within a leading aerospace components provider. The ideal candidate has machining experience, blueprint reading skills, and ability to work with precision gauges.

Qualifications

• Willing to learn or have a working knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes and principles.
• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior machining experience.
• Able to read/interpret part drawings, use quality tools (calipers, mics, comparators).
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Understand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine they are operating (where applicable).
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• After set-up by others, operates various standard and specialized machines to precision tolerances and maintains set-ups completed by others.
• Performs minor adjustments and tool changes.
• Operates one or more machines according to crew size called out on work order.
• Loads parts/material into bins, hoppers and feeders; removes finished parts; and uses standard gauges to check parts.
• Observes operations for malfunction or improper processing; corrects or reports them as needed and stops the process if necessary.
• Performs other related tasks such as assembling, drilling, deburring, sorting, etching, stamping, recording of parts processed and housekeeping.
• Checks multiple operations on a part (OD, ID, height, thread gauging, perpendicularity, etc.).
• Reads micrometers, indicators, plug gauges, and thread gauges; maintains SPC charts.
• Understands cutting tools, drills and taps; submits first article to print.
• Assists supervision and leads in training of machine operators.
