Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Torrance, CA, is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Tech I to set up and operate secondary production machines. The role includes light bench, hand, and assembly tasks in a fast-paced, quality-conscious environment.

The candidate will read blueprints, follow standard procedures, and perform basic machine adjustments as needed. This on-site position offers competitive wages and comprehensive benefits, with visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and basic shop math knowledge.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs per EHS policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of all standard and specialized machines.
• Assist in machine setup, according to work order and standard setup procedure.
• Learn the setup and operation of any new machines added to the department.
• Check parts with gauges or precision instruments and submit for inspection as required.
• Operate machines to ensure proper functioning and release to operators per specs.
• Perform SPC charting as required.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and orderly daily.
• Perform other tasks as required.
