Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aerospace, seeks a candidate for a 3rd shift entry-level Certified Operator program. This role trains you to set up and operate NC milling and grinding equipment, verify finished parts, and achieve operator certification through staged training and hands-on practice.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience preferred.
• Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC’s to perform routine production operations.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Attend a 3-week training program and 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training toward Certified Operator status.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and production personnel to resolve machining problems.
