Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced machinist for the 2nd shift in our Machining Department. Candidate will set up CNC milling machines and VTCs, working from sheets and travelers to perform turning, facing, boring and chamfering operations.

The role requires 1+ years of related experience or a post-secondary certificate, high school/GED, and U.S. citizenship. Onsite role with a 4x10 schedule and training on 1st shift before transfer.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1+ years related experience or completed post-secondary certificate in related field.
• U.S. citizenship required for access to program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC milling machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs.
• Read operation sheets and travelers; prepare machines for turning, facing, boring and chamfering.
• Verify conformance using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain Operator Certification to accept/reject parts.
• Perform TPM to keep machines in good condition.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA and production staff to resolve machining issues.
