Job summary

United Ag & Turf, a John Deere dealership with multiple locations in Texas, is seeking a service support technician for set-up and assembly of equipment. You will perform pre-delivery inspections and prepare equipment for delivery to customers under guidance from Service leadership.

Responsibilities include assisting technicians, maintaining shop organization, and documenting diagnostics and repairs. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate shop tools required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
• Ability to assemble machinery components and to follow manufacturer’s pre-delivery instructions.
• Ability to operate vehicles, tools and equipment used in machinery pre-delivery and set-up process.
• Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning and electrical systems.

• Assists the Service Manager and technicians in the efficient operation of the department.
• Cleans, organizes and maintains the condition of shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Assists service technicians as needed, including delivery of parts.
• Assists service technicians with repairing, servicing and moving equipment.
• Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
• Responsible for documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and timely submittal of information.
• May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs for skill development.
• Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations.

• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Education or Experience

• Fork lift certification.
