An established industry player is seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead and inspire a dedicated team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Role Summary/Purpose
The Machine Shop Manager coordinates, organizes, and oversees all activities involved in the acquisition, of the company's goods, services and subcontracts.
Essential Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Hires and trains shop personnel
* Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
* Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
* Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
* Maintains employee safety and morale by creating safe and efficient working environment.
* Ensures that all subordinates adhere to company policies and procedures.
* Controls conditions of production to satisfy customer's quality and delivery requirements.
* Teams with engineering driving cost and quality improvements into manufacturing production processes.
* Drives a neat, clean and organized facility in accordance with "6S" principles.
* Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to support overall quality and on-time starts/completion of jobs.
* Reviews and monitors and reports performance metrics for the employees and processes managed to manager on a weekly basis.
* Maintains and up to date visual factory which includes status boards and other visual status queues promoted by the company.
* Tracks production cost and delivery performance ensuring that manufacturing operations is serving the best interests of the company and its customers.
* Reviews, monitors and maintains required quantity of Job supplies needed to support ontime job completion.
* Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance cost of manufacturing.
* Ensures employees perform and complete all required training.
* Supports and promotes company "PACT" policy.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Pay Range: $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
Minimum Qualifications
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Good interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, suppliers, and customers.
* Good supervisory and leadership skills.
* Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Thorough understanding of company products and manufacturing methods.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Is open minded and objective when reviewing the performance or personal situations relating to subordinates.
* Adapts to changes in priorities or the work environment. Has open mind to others' ideas and is willing to adapt to changes or try new methods.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Ethics - Keeps commitments and upholds organizational values.
Education and Experience:
* 3-5 years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.
* Strong understanding of the manufacturing processes that will be managed.
