Machine Operator/Warehouse Material Handler

2nd Shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)

Job Summary

Yarde Metals is looking for a machine operator/warehouse associate to join our Operations Team. This position requires warehouse material handling and operating saws to cut material according to customer specifications.

Job Responsibiltiies

• SAFETY FIRST!
• Safely operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes).
• Organize work tickets according to location and material type.
• Retrieve material from inventory system according to work ticket specifications.
• Verify material location, condition, and specifications on inventory tags to work ticket.
• Measure material using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Record and report inventory discrepancies.
• Transport material to designated saws for processing.
• Tag and return material drops to appropriate inventory locations.
• Prepare orders for shipment and construct skids using powered hand tools.
• Stage orders in assigned locations for truck loading and delivery.
• Load and unload material from trucks using material handling equipment.
• Prepare customer orders for shipment via common carriers, UPS, and customer pick-up.
• Set up and operate multiple saws based on workload and business needs.
• Organize work orders according to production schedules and review specifications.
• Reselect material in inventory system if needed.
• Setup saw by selecting appropriate nozzles, setting speeds, and feeds.
• Follow quality procedures and sampling plan to ensure material is accurately processed.
• Inspect processed material for conformity to quality standards and customer specifications.
• Stack and sort finished material and pack for shipment.
• Clean saws according to maintenance procedures.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

***This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position: requires operating heavy machinery***

• Machining, warehouse, material handling, and forklift experience strongly preferred.
• Experience related to the duties of operating a saw is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand, and carry out work instructions in English.
• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
• Must be able to read and understand basic measurement functions (ruler, caliper, etc.)
• High Level of attention to detail.
• Able to pass background check, drug screen, physical, meet physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to pass a human performance evaluation to meet physical requirements of the job (lifting up to 70 lbs., pushing, pulling, etc.)
