Job description

Job Title: Excavator-Trench Operator

An excavator-trench operator is responsible for operating excavating and loading equipment on construction sites. They follow blueprints and instructions from supervisors to dig holes, move earth, and clear land. They operate machinery such as trenchers, vacuum excavators, and bobcats, and assist in the building process by removing and relocating debris.

Excavation duties include but are not limited to the following:

1. Digging, moving, and grading earth using heavy machinery for various construction projects.
2. Preparing sites for foundations, utilities, landscaping, and other features.
3. Inspecting the quality and suitability of materials.
4. Loading and unloading trucks with materials.
5. Operating hand tools to break up soil or rocks.
6. Compacting soil to ensure a stable surface.
