General Responsibilities: Terracon’s Construction Services include environmental remediation, fuel service station closure, and renewable energy construction (testing, installation, and maintenance). Equipment Operators perform site reconnaissance, confirm utility clearance, and operate various mobile equipment such as excavators, backhoes, dozers, skid steers, graders, loaders, scrapers, and compactors. Competency in specific equipment will be demonstrated. Services occur on field project sites.

Job Description: Same as above, with emphasis on operational responsibilities, safety, and communication.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate competency in operating at least one type of mobile equipment (e.g., Excavator, Dozer, Skid Steer, etc.).
• Prepare daily reports.
• Perform safety inspections and ensure equipment safety.
• Communicate with project management.
• Verify utility clearances and inspections.
• Attend project meetings.
• Identify hazards and take corrective actions.
• Follow safety guidelines and participate in pre-task planning.
• Maintain quality standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of laborer experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• OSHA trenching and excavation training or ability to obtain it.
• Knowledge of soil testing, trench safety, damage prevention, etc.
• Completion of Terracon Mobile Equipment Operator Competency training.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
• Ability to obtain certifications in equipment operation.
• Extensive travel expected; all travel expenses covered by the company.

Preferred Certifications: 40-Hour HAZWOPER, TWIC, DOT medical card preferred for remediation projects.
