Job summary

Cargill is hiring a Machine Operator I to operate production and warehouse machines, perform basic maintenance, and troubleshoot under guidance. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to procedures in a fast-paced facility.

Shifts include day and night 12-hour schedules on a 2-2-3 rotation. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with a $0.75 per hour shift differential, plus comprehensive benefits as listed.

Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment and technology tools throughout the facility (mixers, batching, mills, grinders, packing, weighing, palletizers).
  • Collect product samples and monitor tank levels, input and record data in computer systems.
  • Manufacture products to meet specifications and ensure quality.
  • Collaborate with peers and management for continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment as needed.
  • Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

The Machine Operator I, will operate production or warehouse machines that are similar and require limited set up and basic machine adjustments, perform preventative maintenance and assist in troubleshooting machine issues following established policies and procedures and frequent guidance. In this role, you will maximize throughput and produce quality product while following all food safety and regulatory polices as required.

Shift(s) Available:

Day Shift 12hr and Night Shift 12hr both 2-2-3 schedule.

Compensation:

Starting $25.00/hr. and up depending on experience.

A Typical Work Day May Include:
  • Operating equipment and technology tools throughout the facility may include mixers, batching, mills, grinders, packing, weighing, palletizers, etc.
  • Collecting product samples and supervising tank levels, utilizing computer systems to input and record data as necessary
  • Manufacturing products to ensure that they meet specifications
  • Interacting regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork-focused environment
  • Operating mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, etc.
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
What You Will Need
  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work overtime including holidays, nights, weekends, or different shifts with advance notice
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Basic experience troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems
  • Prior experience in production related work
  • Prior experience operating forklifts and/or similar equipment
  • Prior experience mixing materials or working with raw materials
  • Prior experience operating a pallet mill
