Job summary

451 Research Mobility team (Yankee Group) is seeking entry-level Machine Operators to run lathes, mills, grinders and automated cutting machinery. You will handle production tasks, learn machine functions, and document logs in a hands-on, on-site setting.

No prior experience required; basic math and reading a ruler are helpful. Expect safe operations, on-the-job training, and a Monday–Friday schedule with a 7:00am–3:30pm EST shift.

Qualifications

  • Verbal communication ability to communicate effectively.
  • Physical ability - lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand or sit for 8 hours per shift.
  • Detail oriented and precise.
  • Able to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
  • English proficiency.
  • Able to read a ruler.
  • Willingness to learn on site.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and/or grinders to produce steel tools.
  • Understand the production process and coordinate job execution.
  • Be efficient with work-time while producing parts at quality level.
  • Use manual and/or computer-controlled machinery.
  • Understand and learn how your machine functions.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Learn to use precision tools to take accurate measurements.
  • Fill out and document production logs.
  • Produce in consistency with specifications and minimize defects.
  • Keep a clean workspace.

Entry Level - No Experience Needed

Full Time - In person

We are looking for Machine Operators to run a varied amount lathes, mills, grinders and automated cutting machinery to perform assigned tasks through a production process.

A great machine operator needs to possess manual dexterity and have a keen eye for detail. They should possess knowledge of basic mathematics as well as respect for safety precautions. The goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize quality. You will ensure steel tooling meets precise specifications while achieving efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and/or grinders to produce steel tools.
  • Understand the production process and coordinate job execution.

  • Use manual and/or computer-controlled machinery.
  • Understanding and learning how your machine functions.
