Job summary

Trane Technologies in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a hands-on technician to operate automated insertion and pick-and-place equipment for PCB assemblies on site. You will follow written procedures, maintain production records, and assist in developing insertion and/or pick-and-place programs and ECO changes.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred; 1–2 years in electronics with knowledge of components is desired.

• Basic communication and math skills typically associated with high school education.
• 1–2 years of experience in electronics field preferred.
• Working knowledge of all necessary tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of electronics components (types and values) preferred.

• Maintain records for all manufactured product.
• Assist in development and implementation of insertion and/or pick and place procedures.
• Knowledge of leaded versus lead free assembly processes.
• Perform preventative maintenance based on machine schedules.
• Assist in major machine maintenance and repairs.
• Develop auto insertion and/or pick and place programs and edit existing programs as ECO changes.
• Read and work from blue prints, diagrams, schematics and other manufacturing documentation with supervision.

What you will do:

• Run automated insertion and/or pick and place equipment for printed circuit board assemblies under direct supervision and written procedures.
• Maintain records for all manufactured product.
• Assist in development and implementation of insertion and/or pick and place procedures.
• Knowledge of leaded versus lead free assembly processes.
• Perform preventative maintenance based on the machine manufacturer’s schedule.
• Assist in major machine maintenance and repairs.
• Develop auto insertion and/or pick and place machine programs and edit existing programs as required by ECO changes.
• Ability to read and work from blue prints, diagrams, schematics and other manufacturing documentation with direct supervision.
• Ability to float on floor where there is a work need.
