Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Machine Operator for a manufacturing company in Osakis, MN. You will operate machining equipment, inspect parts, and troubleshoot production issues to meet daily goals.

Requires at least 1 year of machining experience and the ability to read blueprints. This is a 2nd shift, temporary position with weekly pay and potential for long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with CMM, GD&T, and SPC practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate machining equipment, including vertical/horizontal mills, lathes, and Swiss machines.
• Read blueprints and work instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Set machine controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and cut depth.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials.
• Monitor operations and adjust to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and depth mics.
• Complete production paperwork and enter data with team members.

Compensation: $18.00-$23.00 per hour – paid weekly

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Machine Operators for a manufacturing company in Osakis, MN. What You'll Do as a Machine Operator:

• Operate machining equipment, which may include vertical or horizontal mills, lathes, and Swiss machines
• Read blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements
• Set machine controls for factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, and other measuring equipment
• Complete required production paperwork and computer entries while working with team members to resolve machining issues

What You Need to Bring to the Machine Operator Role:

• At least 1 year of related machining experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-year machining degree preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and understand machining dimensions and tolerances
• Familiarity with CMM, GD&T, and SPC practices
• Ability to stand frequently and bend or twist occasionally throughout the shift
• Ability to frequently lift 1–10 pounds, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and rarely lift up to 50 pounds
