Job description

Join to apply for the Machine Operator 1st Shift role at Brady Corporation.

What We Need

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating equipment in the value streams of the Good Hope operations. This role involves producing valuable, defect-free products that meet or exceed customer expectations by executing standard work and adhering to company policies.

What You'll Be Doing

  1. Follow Schedule Boards or Hour by Hour boards.
  2. Print and produce products according to order specifications. Perform hand finishing such as laminating, stack cutting, and sheeting as required.
  3. Perform final pre-run inspection, quality checks during production, and job completion to meet quality and quantity standards.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance on applicable equipment.
  5. Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and chemicals following safety procedures.
  6. Work from standard work, instructions, and procedures to complete tasks.
  7. Address routine inquiries and problems, referring complex issues to supervisors.
  8. Communicate with different shifts regarding current jobs, issues, or updates.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer and math skills, including the ability to read a ruler within 1/64".
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., stand for 80-100% of shift, push/pull 22 lbs., climb 8 inches; frequent standing and walking.
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, quality conscious, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Mechanical aptitude for using hand and pneumatic tools, and equipment assembly/disassembly.
  • Willingness to learn and cross-train.
