Job description

Milwaukee, WI

Late 1st shift, 9:00 am - 7:30 pm

Monday - Thursday

$20 - $21 per hour

Summary

Operate machines to perform standardized operations. Recognize defective materials and machine malfunctions. Observe continuous operation of machines to ensure products meet specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform forge operations and setups according to Operation Standards and Work Instructions.
  • Read work orders, work instructions, formulas, or processing charts.
  • Maintain production documentation.
  • Position and secure inserts, hand loads, and workpieces on machines.
  • Remove finished products from machines using hand tools and other equipment.
  • Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Maintain customer quality standards.
  • Fill in appropriate information on labels and associated documentation needed on products when necessary.
  • Understand raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for effective manufacturing and distribution.
  • Perform final packaging of products for shipment.
  • Follow clean-up procedures.
  • Train new team members on proper procedures and techniques.
  • Perform re-work duties as assigned.
  • Relieve other operators for breaks as needed.
  • Act as a backup to the Inspector when necessary.
