Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up the production line, collaborating with the production line team, reading and understanding job tickets, and ensuring all jobs are processed properly. This position works Monday-Friday; 6:00am-2:00pm.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Reads, understands, and accurately follows Job Ticket Instructions, completes job ticket paperwork and obtains proper approvals.
- Sets up and adjusts layouts to match data proofs, diagnoses and troubleshoots errors, and starts up and shuts down the production line; if changes are made, ensure proper approvals are performed.
- Checks machine for proper working order and makes adjustments if machine is not functioning correctly; calls Maintenance if needed.
- Verifies job duties with production assistants; provides verbal instructions for tasks that need to be done differently, ensures understanding of expectations.
- Ensures the product meets customer specifications and performs quality checks as needed.
- Communicates efficiently and effectively with teams and completes end of shift production reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- Sufficient computer skills to adjust machine according to product.
- Ability to follow and communicate written and verbal instructions.
- Understands job database software.
- Ability to navigate through PC screens and menus.
- Understanding of the delivery system equipment including: belts, timing, sensors, vacuums, and shingling.
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. regularly throughout shift.
- Inserter Operator or a Folder Gluer experience is a plus.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position and move about on a concrete floor for 100% of shift.
- Ability to push, lift and pull up to 30 lbs. repetitively during shift.
- Ability to move and position self to operate on, under and around machines.
