Job summary

SMF Inc., an Etnyre International Company, is hiring for a 2nd shift Machine Operator in Minonk, IL. You will operate first-cut machines, inspect against blueprints, and help maintain quality and safety standards on the shop floor.

We seek candidates with technical certification or equivalent machine-operating experience, capable of reading drawings, lifting up to 50 lbs, and collaborating in a fast-paced, safety-driven team.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or on-the-job machine operating experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand long hours.
• Experience operating overhead cranes safely.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate first-cut machines and related production equipment.
• Follow blueprints and specifications to ensure product accuracy.
• Recognize and troubleshoot machine malfunctions independently.
• Operate overhead cranes with attention to safety protocols.
• Maintain production flow while achieving daily quality standards.
• Assist with training new team members and transfers.
• Keep work areas clean and compliant with safety/quality standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills
• Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
• Experience operating overhead cranes in a safe, efficient manner
• Proven ability to spot and resolve machine issues
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Physical ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long durations
