Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a General Production Worker for a contract-to-hire role based in Holmen, WI. You will rotate through open shop floor stations, fabricating stainless steel attachments, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.

You will operate various production tools safely, perform quality inspections, and measure parts using calipers and tape measures. The position offers a four-day workweek and profit sharing in a hands-on, onsite setting.

Job description

Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

This role focuses on custom manufacturing stainless steel attachments and adapters tailored to meet specific customer requirements. You will rotate through multiple workstations on the shop floor, learning the full production process and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities
  • Custom fabricate stainless steel attachments and adapters according to customer specifications.
  • Operate a variety of production and machine tools safely and efficiently across multiple workstations.
  • Measure materials and finished components accurately using tools such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Perform quality inspection of parts to ensure they meet required standards and customer expectations.
  • Follow production instructions and job travelers to complete assigned projects on time.
  • Move between different areas of the open shop floor as needed to complete each stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Take full ownership of assigned projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all steps are completed correctly.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and keep production flowing smoothly.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Machine operating experience, with 2+ years preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform quality inspection on parts and components.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers accurately.
  • Capability to perform general labor tasks in a production setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a machine operator in a small to mid-sized manufacturing shop.
  • Comfort working across multiple workstations and adapting to different tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to completing projects.

Work Environment

The facility features an open-concept layout, and you will work throughout the shop floor to complete each stage of your assigned jobs. Standard hours are 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with no scheduled work on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The environment is hands-on and production-focused, involving regular use of machine tools, measuring equipment such as tape measures and calipers, and inspection tools. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed shoes or boots, and a t-shirt, suitable for a manufacturing shop setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holmen, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
