Job summary

Collins Aerospace in San Marcos, TX is seeking a Machinist I to assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts into sub-units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment.

You will read blueprints, interpret GD&T, set up machines, perform inspections, and maintain quality and safety standards on a 3rd shift (Sun–Thu, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM). Competitive pay ranges from $21 to $23 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience interpreting blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and tolerances (GD&T).
• Experience operating a 5 Axis CNC Machine.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub-units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment.
• Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process.
• Performs machining setups and adjusts as required; conducts inspections and maintains quality/safety standards.

Shift

3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday 11PM – 7:30AM

What You Will Do

Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub-units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment. Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process. Performs machining setups and adjusts as required. Conducts inspections of work produced. Checks SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging, and measurements. Keeps records and maintains quality/safety standards. Preforms other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a HS Diploma or GED
• Experience in Interpreting blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
• Experience operating a 5 Axis CNC Machine
• Understand and able to interpret G&M Code
