Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Machinist I at the San Marcos, TX facility. You will set up and operate a CNC machine, use precision hand tools, and produce machined parts to exact specifications.

The 3rd shift runs Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM with a pay rate of $21–$23 per hour. Relevant GD&T knowledge and blueprint interpretation are required for this onsite, non-sponsoring role.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience interpreting blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and GD&T for operation, material and dimensional requirements.
• Understanding and able to interpret G&M Code is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub-units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment.
• Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process.
• Performs machining setups and adjusts as required.
• Conducts inspections of work produced.
• Checks SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging, and measurements.
• Keeps records and maintains quality/safety standards.
• Performs other duties as required.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a HS Diploma or GED
• Experience in Interpreting blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience operating a 5 Axis CNC Machine
• Understand and able to interpret G&M Code
