Job summary

Staff Perm is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician to keep high-speed printing equipment running safely and efficiently. You will work on sheet-fed offset printing machinery, verify repairs against production specs, and support packaging and fulfillment equipment in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, 3+ years of maintenance experience, and the ability to interpret diagrams and schematics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• At least 3 years of machine maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical understanding of complex equipment.
• Ability to follow diagrams, schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical and electromechanical equipment through inspection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Disassemble machines, replace worn or broken parts, adjust mechanical components, and restore equipment to operational standards.
• Interpret diagrams, schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications to ensure repairs meet production requirements.
• Clean and lubricate moving parts, order replacement components, and verify completed repairs meet tolerances.
• Address unique equipment issues and support PLCs and automation controls in production lines.

Join our team as a Machine Maintenance Technician specializing in printing equipment, where your mechanical and electrical skills will keep high-speed production running smoothly and safely.

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing complex printing production machinery, blending mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting expertise. You will support high volume print, packaging, and fulfillment operations by ensuring equipment operates within manufacturing specifications.

• SCHEDULE: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm
• PAY RATE: $25/hr

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a wide range of mechanical and electromechanical equipment through systematic inspection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Disassemble machines, replace worn or broken parts, adjust mechanical components, and restore equipment to operational standards.
• Interpret diagrams, schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications to ensure repairs meet production requirements.
• Clean and lubricate moving parts, order replacement components, and verify that completed repairs meet operational tolerances.
• Adapt tools, materials, and procedures to address unique equipment issues and serve as a resource for resolving complex mechanical or electrical problems.
• Work on Sheet Fed Offset Printing Machines and other high-speed industrial equipment used in printing, finishing, packaging, and mail processing.
• Maintain mechanical production machinery such as cutters, folders, inserters, bindery equipment, and other print-related machines relying on gears, shafts, bearings, and drive systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults and repair low voltage electrical and electronic systems including wiring, motors, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
• Troubleshoot and support Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and related automation controls, including input/output issues and electrical control installations.
• Perform tasks such as connecting a laptop to printing machines and changing IP addresses.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• At least 3 years of prior machine maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical understanding of complex equipment.
• Experience with diagnostic tools such as Digital Multimeter (DMM), Clamp meter, Continuity tester, Non-contact voltage tester, and Logic probe for PLC I/O checks.
• Proficient use of basic hand tools and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic repairs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow diagrams, schematics, manuals, instructions, and engineering specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sheetfed Offset Printing Presses.
• Experience with high-speed manufacturing, print, bindery, inserting, packaging, or fulfillment equipment.
