Staff Perm is seeking an Industrial Printing Equipment Maintenance Technician for 1st shift in Lenexa, KS. You will maintain and repair high-speed printing and packaging machinery, using mechanical, electrical, and PLC troubleshooting skills to ensure reliable operation.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, disassembling and replacing parts, and tuning systems for optimal performance. Requires 3+ years in maintenance and ability to read schematics. Background check may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of machine maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of complex equipment.
• Experience with diagnostic tools (DMM, clamp meter, testers).
• Ability to read diagrams, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electromechanical equipment via inspection, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Disassemble machinery, replace worn parts, adjust components, and restore equipment to spec.
• Interpret technical diagrams and manuals to guide repairs.
• Clean, lubricate, and replace components to meet tolerances.
• Modify tools, materials, and procedures to address equipment challenges.

Seeking an Industrial Printing Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team on the 1st shift, ensuring high-speed printing and packaging machinery operates reliably and efficiently.

This role involves maintaining and repairing complex industrial printing equipment, including mechanical production machinery and low voltage electrical systems. The technician will support high volume print, finishing, packaging, and mail processing operations by applying mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.

• SCHEDULE: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm
• PAY RATE: $25/hr

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electromechanical equipment through inspection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Disassemble machinery, replace worn or broken parts, adjust components, and restore equipment to meet operational standards.
• Interpret technical documents such as diagrams, schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications to guide repairs.
• Clean and lubricate moving parts, order necessary replacement components, and confirm repairs meet operational tolerances.
• Modify tools, materials, and procedures to address unique equipment challenges and assist in resolving complex mechanical or electrical issues.
• Work on Sheet Fed Offset Printing Machines and other high-speed industrial printing, finishing, packaging, and mail processing equipment.
• Maintain mechanical machinery including cutters, folders, inserters, bindery equipment, and print-related machines with gears, shafts, bearings, and drive systems.
• Diagnose and repair low voltage electrical and electronic systems including wiring, motors, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
• Troubleshoot and support Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation controls, including input/output troubleshooting and electrical control installations.
• Perform tasks such as connecting laptops to printing machines and changing IP addresses.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 3 years machine maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of complex equipment.
• Experience with diagnostic tools including Digital Multimeter (DMM), Clamp meter, Continuity tester, Non-contact voltage tester, and Logic probe for PLC I/O checks.
• Proficient in use of basic hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic repairs.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow technical diagrams, schematics, manuals, and engineering instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sheetfed Offset Printing Presses.
• Experience with high-speed manufacturing, print, bindery, inserting, packaging, or fulfillment equipment.
