Staff Perm is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician on the 2nd shift to keep high-volume printing and packaging equipment running safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining production targets. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, PLC troubleshooting, and proficiency with diagnostic tools.

You will perform inspections, disassemble parts, replace worn components, and calibrate equipment to meet specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of machine maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Proficient with basic hand and power tools.
• Able to read diagrams, schematics, manuals and engineering instructions.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Perform systematic inspection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis on mechanical and electromechanical equipment.
• Disassemble machines, replace worn or broken parts, adjust components, and restore operation.
• Interpret diagrams, schematics, manuals and specs to complete repairs.
• Clean and lubricate moving parts, order components, and verify tolerances.
• Adapt tools and procedures to resolve unique equipment issues and support production floor.
• Maintain and repair printing presses and related machinery on site.
• Diagnose and repair low voltage electrical and electronic systems (wiring, motors, sensors, relays, control circuits).
• Troubleshoot PLCs and automation controls, including I/O issues.
• Connect laptops to printers and manage IP addresses to support production.

Are you ready to play a key role in keeping high-volume printing production running smoothly? We are seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to ensure our printing and packaging equipment operates safely and efficiently.

As a Machine Maintenance Technician on the 2nd shift, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing complex industrial equipment used in printing, finishing, packaging, and mail processing operations. Your work will directly support high-volume production by minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment meets manufacturing specifications.

• SCHEDULE: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm
• PAY RATE: $25/hr

Responsibilities

• Perform systematic inspection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis on mechanical and electromechanical equipment.

• Maintain and repair Sheet Fed Offset Printing Machines and other high-speed commercial printing presses.
• Service mechanical production machinery including cutters, folders, inserters, bindery equipment, and other print-related machines.
• Diagnose and repair low voltage electrical and electronic systems such as wiring, motors, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
• Troubleshoot and support Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation controls, including input/output issues and electrical control installations.
• Execute tasks like connecting laptops to printing machines and changing IP addresses to support production operations.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of machine maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of complex equipment.
• Experience using diagnostic tools including Digital Multimeter (DMM), Clamp Meter, Continuity Tester, Non-contact Voltage Tester, and Logic Probe for PLC I/O checks.
• Proficient with basic hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic repairs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow diagrams, schematics, manuals, and engineering instructions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sheetfed Offset Printing Presses.
• Experience with high-speed manufacturing, print, bindery, inserting, packaging, or fulfillment equipment.
