Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Machine Builder in Waukegan, IL. This permanent, on-site role runs on the first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with welding, fabrication and manual machining using lathes, mills and grinders.

The candidate will build sub-assemblies, construct and rebuild machines from blueprints, verify BOMs, and collaborate with Engineering to ensure geometry and specs are met. Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills required.

Qualifications

• Welding and fabrication skills, particularly with stainless steel.
• Mechanical assembly and machine building experience.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and the use of power and hand tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical components and work with pneumatics.
• Repair and maintenance skills.

We are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our team. This position operates on the first shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves significant welding and fabricating, as well as manual machining tasks such as using lathes, mills, and grinders.

Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience such as production mechanic, auto mechanic (certification required), or machine shop experience.
• Completion of one blueprint reading class and one shop math class.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools like micrometers and verniers.
• Fluency in reading and writing in English.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must pass a company-administered mechanical test.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
