Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA certification or RMA certification required if applicable.
• Medication Aide 40-hour course or state certification required if applicable.
• NCT training may be required.
• BLS for the Healthcare Provider certified or to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within 3 months of hire.
• 2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
• May draw blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Administer medications and/or vaccines as ordered.
• May perform routine tests such as EKGs.
• Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and communicate results and plan of care.
• Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain exam rooms.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

CMA certification or RMA certification

Medication Aide course or state certification

NCT training (optional)

BLS certification (within 3 months)

Mandatory Reporter abuse training (within 3 months)

2 years Medical Assistant experience (preferred)
