Our client is seeking a skilled Microsoft 365 / Cloud System Engineer with expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure to join our IT team. The role involves managing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and security of cloud-based systems. Residency in the Chicago metropolitan area is required.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and support M365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and other applications.
2. Audit and update M365 applications based on security recommendations.
3. Monitor and troubleshoot to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
4. Implement security best practices to safeguard systems against cyber threats.
5. Plan and execute migrations to Azure and M365, coordinating with stakeholders.
6. Provide technical guidance for cloud-related IT projects.
7. Stay updated on cloud trends and recommend improvements.
8. Train and support end-users on Azure and M365 applications.
9. Manage Azure services such as Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Storage, and Networking.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience; relevant certifications like Azure Administrator or Microsoft 365 Certified.
• Minimum 5 years in system administration focusing on M365 and Azure Cloud.
• Extensive hands-on experience with M365 applications.
• Proficiency in Azure services and architecture.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles.
• Skilled in PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Salary/Rate: $70-$80/hour, based on experience. This is a 6-month contract position, working 40 hours/week, with no current benefits.
