This is a W2 only (No C2C) remote contract-to-hire position. However, our client is only interested in candidates who currently reside in Arizona, Florida, or near Philadelphia.

The Systems Engineer will work as part of the IT team to perform highly complex duties at an advanced professional level. The role involves planning, maintaining, and administering various IT infrastructure components across servers, networks, and cloud hosting systems to ensure the delivery of enterprise-wide technology services that meet business, engineering, operational, and support objectives. The incumbent is responsible for executing projects and tasks focused on hardware and software infrastructure, ensuring the IT environment is secure, reliable, and efficient. This role requires deep technical knowledge of server and network architectures and the ability to resolve highly complex issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Participate in developing enterprise-level strategies for Server and Network infrastructure; research and evaluate current and emerging technologies, and recommend initiatives to meet network needs.
2. Analyze capacity, forecast growth requirements, and monitor industry trends; collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate emerging technologies for long-term strategies.
3. Provide guidance and execute upgrades, conversions, and configurations for servers and networks; develop contingency and disaster recovery plans.
4. Evaluate and recommend monitoring and security tools; develop and maintain network documentation and reference materials.
5. Perform advanced troubleshooting on network hardware, software, and connectivity issues; resolve problems at second and third levels.
6. Support escalated technical support and systems administration tasks from Help Desk and partner teams.
7. Plan, design, configure, implement, maintain, and support server hardware, software, and management tools.
8. Engage in strategic planning, disaster recovery, and redundancy initiatives.
9. Document all major projects and strategic plans thoroughly.

EDUCATION

• College degree with a focus on computer science.
• Industry-standard technical certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, ITIL, HyperV).

EXPERIENCE

• 5-7 years of experience in systems and network engineering, IT, or related fields.
• Advanced knowledge of systems and network engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Server OS administration, configuration, and support.
• Experience with networking protocols, hardware, and infrastructure such as Cisco/Meraki, Fortinet, Juniper, or Aruba.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized, capable of managing multiple projects.
• Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

KNOWLEDGE

• Proficient with Network Fundamentals & Infrastructure.
• Proficient in Windows Server, HyperV or VMWare, Azure, M365 Administration and Configuration.
• Knowledge of IT Security Fundamentals and Technologies.
• Familiarity with WAN and Telecom Technologies.
• Healthcare IT experience is a plus.
