Job summary

Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY) is seeking a full-time M/WBE Program Director in the Bureau of Procurement and Fiscal Services. The role reports to the Assistant Commissioner and focuses on managing FDNY's MWBE program, improving MWBE utilization across agency procurements and awards, and coordinating with multiple bureaus.

The position requires advanced degrees in a relevant field and substantial experience in budget, procurement, and supervisory leadership, with responsibilities

Qualifications

• Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, public administration, or related field; 18 months supervisory experience required.
• Bachelor's degree plus four years of professional experience in budget, accounting, or fiscal management; 18 months in a supervisory role.
• Associate degree with six years of professional experience as described; includes 18 months in supervisory capacity.
• High school diploma and eight years of professional experience in the described areas, including 18 months in supervisory role; combination allowed.

Responsibilities

• Manage/direct FDNY's M/WBE Program and coordinate with procurement and purchasing teams.
• Develop and implement policies to improve MWBE participation in agency procurements and awards.
• Provide training and assistance to buyers and p-card holders re: MWBE goals; monitor procurements to enhance MWBE utilization.
• Represent FDNY in MWBE organizations and events and report outcomes to inform program improvements.

Master's degree (economics/finance/public administration/etc.)

Associate degree / 60 credits

High school diploma with 2+ years of experience
