Job summary

Basin Harbor in Vergennes, Vermont, is seeking a highly motivated Wedding & Social Catering Sales Manager to drive revenue through weddings and social events. You will be the primary contact for clients, crafting proposals and contracts that reflect the resort’s commitment to exceptional hospitality.

Responsibilities include soliciting events, tours, site visits, and negotiations to maximize revenue while delivering memorable guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, marketing, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years of hospitality sales experience; luxury hospitality preferred.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; ability to collaborate with clients and internal departments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Proactively solicit, sell, negotiate and book weddings, family reunions, anniversary celebrations, showers, and other social events.
• Respond to inquiries promptly and conduct in-person site tours for prospective clients.
• Develop customized proposals, contracts, and event packages that maximize resort revenue.
• Negotiate guestroom rates, meeting room rental, and other terms balancing client needs with hotel profitability.
• Prepare and execute group contracts per hotel terms and procedures.
• Ensure contracts reflect negotiated terms, including cancellations and deposits.
• Collaborate with sales and revenue leadership to align pricing with occupancy and revenue strategy.
• Monitor booking pace, pipeline, and conversion metrics.
• Serve as primary liaison from inquiry to operational handoff for clients.
• Build relationships with industry partners and wedding planners to generate new business.
• Collaborate on-site with resort operations to ensure successful contract closing.
