Job summary

The Gate House Retail Sales Assistant at Biltmore is dedicated to sales, delivering exceptional guest service, and accurately operating the cash register. You will assist guests with selections, locate inventory, and engage in up-selling and cross-selling to help increase revenue.

Additional duties include opening and closing the shops, restocking merchandise, maintaining the shop’s cleanliness, and supporting leadership and the broader team in a luxury, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of prior retail or guest service experience in an upscale/luxury setting is preferred.
• Exceptional guest relations and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register/POS system.
• Demonstrated commitment to world-class guest service.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced guest service environment as part of a team.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs, be proactive, and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all guests. Do all possible to make each guest's visit memorable and pleasant.
• Efficiently handle large sums of money.
• Open and close the retail shops.
• Clean and organize the shop to keep shop presentable and representative of the Biltmore brand.
• Familiarize and keep knowledge of all shop merchandise, old and new, up to date as often as possible.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Provide exceptional guest service.
• Exhibit proper phone/radio etiquette.
