Job summary

Loverboy is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations in San Antonio, TX. You will partner with the Director of Operations and Executive Chef to deliver exceptional service and a superior culinary program. You will coach and develop staff, manage guest relations, and drive financial performance.

The role requires strong communication, budgeting understanding and hands-on leadership in a high-service environment. A luxury or ultra-luxury background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Passionate and knowledgeable about food and beverage and creating a unique guest experience.
• Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills and strong problem solving abilities.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with other departments, guests and vendors.
• Ability to taste a variety of dishes and ingredients and provide feedback.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of management experience in a high service oriented restaurant.
• Minimum of one year experience in a similar position, preferably with a luxury or ultra-luxury restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional guest experience and service.
• Interview, hire, train, coach, counsel and develop associates.
• Maintain high associate satisfaction through hands-on involvement and empowerment.
• Understand budgets, forecasting and financial statements and operate within parameters.
• Assist in monthly inventory of liquor, beer and wine and manage costs.
• Create ongoing training programs to ensure consistent service standards and knowledge.
• Establish par levels for supplies and equipment; process requisitions.
• Maintain knowledge of liquor brands, beers, wines and major wines by the glass.
• Ensure sanitation, safety, and compliance; maintain security systems.
• Participate in payroll, scheduling and labor forecasting; adjust as needed.
• Foster cooperative working climate and manage morale.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and review daily business information.
• Prepare weekly work schedules in line with staffing guidelines.
