Job summary

The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Collection in Los Olivos, CA, seeks a Restaurant Host to uphold our welcoming atmosphere from arrival to departure, providing exceptional service and a positive guest experience.

You'll greet guests, handle check-ins and seating, answer phones, manage reservations, coordinate with staff, maintain station cleanliness, and stay familiar with hotel services and local attractions.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or hospitality, preferably high-end.
• Strong communication and a positive attitude; fluent in English.
• Must be of minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to obtain state/local certifications (food handler, alcohol training).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, provide courteous service, and manage check-ins and seating.
• Answer phones, take reservations, handle in-room dining orders, and maintain reservation records.
• Coordinate with restaurant/pool staff to optimize guest placements and avoid overbooking.
• Assist with station charts, assign stations, and guide servers in table set-up.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the host station.
• Monitor and update guest profiles, VIP arrivals, and special requests in reservation systems.
• Ensure menus and wine lists are current and stocked.
• Resolve guest complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Familiarize yourself with hotel services and local attractions to respond accurately to inquiries.
• Collaborate with Food and Beverage Management to set a positive restaurant environment.
