The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of prep cook experience, strong knife skills, and a NYC Food Protection Certificate. English communication is essential for team coordination and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years prep cook experience in fine dining, high-volume upscale, or luxury boutique hotel setting.
• Proficient knife skills and familiarity with cooking techniques.
• NYC Food Protection Certificate required.
• Must read/ follow recipes in English and communicate with team.

Responsibilities

• Ingredient Preparation: wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion items per recipe specs.
• Mise en Place: keep workstation pristine and organized before service.
• Basic Cooking & Techniques: assist with broths, stocks, marinades, dressings, and par-cooking.
• Quality & Safety Assurance: inspect freshness, enforce food safety and temperature controls.
• Inventory & Storage: label, date, rotate (FIFO), store items properly.
• Kitchen Sanitation: clean and sanitize prep areas and tools.
• Team Collaboration: support line cooks and chefs during peak service.
