Job summary

Viceroy Santa Monica is seeking a Public Area Attendant to maintain the hotel's lobby, public spaces, restrooms, and amenities to Highgate standards. You will support cleanliness across the lobby, fitness center, restaurants, and corridors, delivering a welcoming, polished guest environment.

The role emphasizes attentive service, safe work habits, and teamwork with the Housekeeping team. Prior hotel housekeeping experience is preferred, with flexible hours and the ability to stand for long

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience highly preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Must communicate effectively with guests and staff.
• Must multitask and prioritize departmental functions.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Maintain professional appearance including PPE and nametag.
• Cross-train in other hotel areas.
• Confidentiality and initiative expected.

Responsibilities

• Be attentive, friendly, and courteous to guests, managers, and colleagues.
• Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with staff.
• Practice safe work habits to ensure guest and staff safety.
• Handle Lost and Found items per hotel standards.
• End of shift: return keys and assignment sheets to Housekeeping Office.
• Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisors/Managers.
• Know correct guestroom cleaning procedures to assist if needed.
• Deliver clean linen to assigned sections as needed.
• Collect trash and dirty linen from service landings.
• Dispose of trash following hotel procedures.
• Vacuum and maintain cleanliness of corridors.
• Keep hallways and public areas neat and organized.
• Maintain cleanliness of public restrooms.
• Adhere to the schedule for project cleaning of public areas.
• Maintain stairwells to hotel standards.
• Keep ash urns clean and filled with sand.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
