Job summary

Highgate Hotels in New Orleans seeks a Guest Service Agent to provide attentive, courteous service during check-in, stay, and checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy. You will greet guests, answer questions, process reservations, and support hotel operations with a friendly, professional demeanor.

The position requires flexibility for long hours, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• College coursework in related field is helpful.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Computer experience required.
• Customer Services experience preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all guests at the Front Desk per Highgate standards.
• Maintain PBX/phone system operations and hotel standards.
• Answer inquiries about services, facilities and hours of operation promptly.
• Handle logging and delivery of packages, mail and messages.
• Review Front Office log and Trace File daily.
• Assist guests with restaurant, transportation and entertainment questions.
• Follow cash handling and credit policies.
• Be aware of rates, packages and promotions as listed in the Red Book.
• Know in-house group details and dates; manage reservations with rate quoting.
• Operate Front Desk computer systems efficiently and complete shift tasks on time.
