Job summary

Fairmont New Orleans is seeking an experienced Third Measure Bartender to craft cocktails and deliver attentive service in a high-energy luxury setting in downtown New Orleans. The role emphasizes knowledge of premium spirits, wine, and classic techniques, with connections to New Orleans cocktail culture and a focus on guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of bartending experience preferred.
• Previous luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, cocktail bar, lounge, or fine-dining experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails.
• Strong knowledge of premium spirits, wine, beer, and cocktail ingredients.
• Craft cocktail or mixology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of New Orleans cocktail culture is an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong guest service and relationship-building abilities.
• Previous POS and cash-handling experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to remain polished and composed in a high-volume environment.
• Alcohol awareness certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, polished, professional service consistent with Fairmont New Orleans standards.
• Welcome guests and create genuine connections throughout their experience.
• Prepare classic and signature cocktails according to established recipes and standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, champagne, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Maintain knowledge of ingredients, garnishes, preparation methods, and presentation standards.
• Assist with VIP experiences, private events, and high-profile guests with discretion.
• Maintain a clean, organized bar and proper cash-handling procedures.
• Participate in tastings, menu development, training, and pre-shift meetings.
