Job summary

Fairmont New Orleans is seeking a Third Measure Barback to support the beverage operation, maintain a fully stocked and clean bar, and assist with events. You will work closely with Bartenders and the Front of House team to ensure an exceptional cocktail experience for guests.

Qualifications include hospitality experience, knowledge of spirits and cocktails, and the ability to work late nights and weekends in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in barback, restaurant, hospitality, or F&B preferred.
• Experience in a cocktail bar, luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, or lounge is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and beer preferred.
• Interest in craft cocktails and beverage culture.

Responsibilities

• Support Bartenders in delivering exceptional beverage service.
• Keep bar stocked, clean, organized and presentation-ready during service.
• Restock spirits, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies.
• Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, mixers, and cocktail components per recipes.
• Assist with opening and closing the bar and with setup/breakdown for events.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and sanitation of surfaces and equipment.
• Monitor stock levels and inform leadership of shortages or equipment needs.
• Safely transport beverage products and supplies around the hotel.

Job Description

The Third Measure Barback is responsible for supporting the cocktail bar and beverage operation by maintaining cleanliness, organization, inventory, preparation, and operational readiness. Working closely with Bartenders and the Front of House team, the Barback ensures the bar remains fully stocked and prepared to deliver an exceptional cocktail experience.

Responsibilities:

• Support Bartenders in delivering exceptional beverage service
• Maintain a fully stocked, clean, organized, and presentation-ready bar throughout service
• Restock spirits, wine, beer, mixers, juices, syrups, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies
• Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, mixers, and cocktail components according to established recipes
• Assist with preparation of house-made cocktail ingredients, infusions, and garnishes as trained
• Maintain knowledge of Third Measure's cocktail, spirits, wine, beer, and food offerings
• Assist with opening and closing the bar
• Maintain adequate ice, glassware, bar tools, and supplies throughout service
• Assist with setup and breakdown for regular service, VIP experiences, private events, and special functions
• Remove used glassware, dishes, trash, and recycling promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar tops, counters, coolers, sinks, storage areas, equipment, and service stations
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining bar equipment and tools
• Assist with receiving, organizing, rotating, and storing beverage products
• Assist with inventory counts, requisitions, waste tracking, and product accountability
• Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or equipment concerns to leadership
• Safely transport beverage products, ice, equipment, and supplies throughout the hotel
• Assist Servers and Runners during high-volume service periods
• Interact with guests warmly and professionally when appropriate
• Follow all applicable Louisiana alcohol regulations and responsible beverage service procedures
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety procedures
• Maintain a polished and professional appearance
• Uphold the standards and atmosphere of Third Measure and Fairmont New Orleans
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Qualifications

• Previous barback, restaurant, hospitality, or Food & Beverage experience preferred
• Previous cocktail bar, luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, or lounge experience is an asset
• Basic knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and beer preferred
• Interest in craft cocktails and beverage culture
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Highly dependable and capable of working with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to remain professional and composed during high-volume service
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work late-night schedules, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must meet applicable Louisiana requirements related to alcohol service support operations
