Job summary

The Post Oak Hotel in Houston seeks a Pool Server to provide attentive, courteous and efficient service for guests at a Forbes Five-Star property. You will greet guests, take orders, explain menu items, coordinate with kitchen staff, and ensure timely, accurate service with emphasis on guest satisfaction.

This role requires strong hospitality and multitasking abilities, flexibility to work nights and weekends, and knowledge of food and beverage offerings.

Qualifications

• 1 year of restaurant server or customer service experience preferred.
• Luxury or Forbes hotel experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and math skills for handling payments and tips.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and welcome them.
• Take drink orders and follow service policies.
• Explain menu items, ingredients and prep methods to guests.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Serve food and beverages promptly with accuracy and presentation.
• Check on guests to ensure satisfaction; address requests/concerns.
• Handle complaints professionally and escalate to management as needed.
• Collaborate with servers, hosts and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Comply with federal/state laws including FLSA tip regulations and minimum wage requirements.
