Job summary

The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston is seeking a Fine Dining Restaurant Server to join its Forbes Five-Star property. You will ensure exceptional dining experiences, greet guests, explain menu items, and coordinate with kitchen staff to deliver orders accurately and promptly.

The role requires multitasking, strong communication, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior luxury or Forbes experience preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of restaurant server or customer service is preferred. Previous Luxury or Forbes experience preferred.
• Strong multitasking and time management abilities. Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including dietary restrictions and allergies. Excellent communication skills. Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating tips.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner.
• Take drink orders and follow policy regarding service of alcohol.
• Know the menu and explain items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests.
• Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together.
• Serve food and beverages promptly with good presentation and timely service for the entire table.
• Check on guests during meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and bring issues to management.
• Collaborate with fellow servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Comply with all federal and state laws, including FLSA tip regulations.

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Fine Dining Restaurant Server to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. A server’s primary responsibility is to ensure exceptional dining experiences for guests. A friendly and professional demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will contribute to the overall success of the establishment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner
• Take drink orders and follow policy regarding service of alcohol
• Know the menu and be able to explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests
• Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together
• Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and good presentation, and timed so the entire table is served within a reasonable time frame
• Check on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns
• Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and bring issues to management
• Collaborate with fellow servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
• Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements
