Job summary

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Fine Dining Restaurant Server to join the Forbes Five-Star property in Texas. You will greet guests, take drink orders, explain menu items, coordinate with the kitchen, and ensure every course is served promptly with polished presentation.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of restaurant server or customer service experience, preferably in luxury settings, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• One year of restaurant server or customer service experience preferred; luxury or Forbes experience preferred.
• Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner.
• Take drink orders and manage alcohol service policy.
• Explain menu items, ingredients and preparation methods to guests.
• Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure on-time delivery of orders.
• Serve meals promptly with good presentation and appropriate timing.
• Check on guests during meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate to management as needed.
• Collaborate with servers, hosts and kitchen staff for smooth service.
• Comply with FLSA tip reporting and minimum wage requirements.

Overview

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Fine Dining Restaurant Server to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. A server’s primary responsibility is to ensure exceptional dining experiences for guests. A friendly and professional demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will contribute to the overall success of the establishment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner


• Take drink orders and follow policy regarding service of alcohol


• Know the menu and be able to explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests


• Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together


• Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and good presentation, and timed so the entire table is served within a reasonable time frame


• Check on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns


• Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and bring issues to management


• Collaborate with fellow servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service


• Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements

Qualifications

• Strong multitasking and time management abilities.

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.


• Physical demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and prolonged extended periods of standing.
